About The Position
The role of the peer tutor is to aid fellow students in understanding course-related concepts and appropriate study skills for specific courses. The peer tutor will provide academic support while honoring the college's academic integrity policy. This position requires the individual to be an example academically and professionally for their peers. The peer tutor should be at least a second-semester freshman at the time of application. The peer tutor must maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA and remain in good standing with the college. Tutors will work no more than 10 hours per week, and their schedule will be built around their course schedule. This is a federal work-study position unless otherwise indicated. Training will be mandatory, and tutors are eligible to receive an assessment from the Director of Student Success and the students they work with to ensure a proper understanding of the role.
