About The Position

Peer Financial Coaches (PFCs) serve as first-tier financial aid representatives to assist students with navigating Financial Aid processes at the College. This can include applying for various financial aid programs, navigating My Tri-C Space and Blackboard, and applying for public benefits. PFCs will also assist the Student Financial Aid and Scholarships (SFAS) office in performing outreach activities, such as campus events, website review, and outbound phone calls.

Requirements

  • Minimum GPA of 2.0 and maintain semester enrollment of at least 6 credit hours
  • Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to follow directions with attention to detail
  • Proficient Computer and Technology Skills (Microsoft Office, Internet, Software Programs, etc.)
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Adhere to college's confidentiality policy
  • Successfully pass background check

Responsibilities

  • Completion of Financial Aid Applications and Documents (FAFSA, Scholarships, Verification Forms, SAP Appeals)
  • Department Outreach (Campus Events, Workshops, Financial Literacy)
  • Assist with SFAS Services
  • Other department and office duties as assigned
