The Federal Work Study Program provides jobs for students at Black Hawk College demonstrating financial need. Eligible students typically work between 6 - 15 hours per week. BHC students who don't meet the eligibility requirements for the Federal Work Study Program may be eligible for non-Work Study positions, which are subject to budget limitations and availability of funds. Duties vary by department and area, with examples of departments utilizing Work Study/Student Worker employees including Accounting, Aquatic Center, Campus Services, Career Services, Facilities, Financial Aid, Fitness Center, Human Resources, IT, Marketing & Public Relations, Science Lab, and Misc Student Services Areas. Examples of duties include clerical/office work, using a computer and Microsoft Office software, customer service, answering phones, making copies, and cleaning work areas.
