About The Position

The Physics Academic Support Assistant provides instructional and educational support within the Physics Program. The position focuses on assisting with the preparation and presentation of physics and mathematics instructional materials, supporting conceptual understanding of advanced topics, and facilitating clear communication of technical content. All duties are performed under faculty supervision and are instructional in nature. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.

Requirements

  • Must be a UA Little Rock Student
  • Must have proof of existing work study award for the current Academic Year and have the skills required to complete assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and organizing physics and mathematics materials, including explanatory notes, worked examples, and presentation content
  • Developing and delivering structured presentations or tutorials on advanced physics and mathematical topics as requested by the supervising faculty member
  • Assisting with clarification of theoretical concepts
  • Supporting instructional discussions
  • Additional duties may include reviewing course-related materials, assisting with problem-solving exercises, and providing general academic support within the department.
