About The Position

The WorkPlace Project Manager (WPPM) reporting into Global Real Estate and Workplace Services (GREWS), will manage large and special projects in support of multiple efforts related to the BMS WorkPlace Program. These efforts include but are not limited to mass staff relocations, renovation of buildings and closure of sites. In support of those efforts, the WPPM will build and execute project schedules to lead the GREWS workstreams during design, procurement of services and materials and build phase. These efforts are to design and deploy Network Solutions (switches, WAPs, telephony, etc.), Desk Technology (monitors, docking stations, headsets, etc.), Audio/Visual conference room technology, centralized print room technology, and the building's branding solution. Additionally, the WPPM is responsible for overseeing the Change Management/Communications and Occupancy Planning workstreams. This position reports into the Global WorkPlace Program Manager and will assist in the training and growth of other PMs on the team. Each WorkPlace project typically involves the complete renovation or closure of a building and therefore the WPPM must also work very closely and collaborate with the Construction/Engineering/Facilities Project Manager(s) to integrate his/her milestones into the Construction Project Schedule and vice versa. Collaboration skills are key as the WPPM must integrate schedules across GREWS, IT, Network, Facilities, Engineering, Print Services, Change Management, Communications, Occupancy Planning/Logistics and Branding. Projects will include both US and International locations, however travel is not expected. The individual will run integrated project team meetings, develop the integrated project status, organize and lead teams to ensure deliverables and timelines are met, pro-actively raise key issues/risks and of course follow and execute processes per PMO standards. The individual should have demonstrated experience working with mid-level and senior executives and have executive presence. Individual should also be comfortable working in a fast-pace environment and able to effectively manage multiple projects concurrently and at times with competing priorities.

Requirements

  • BS or BA degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience of 10+ years in leading complex Infrastructure or Workplace Renovation projects in IT or Facilities.
  • 5+ years proficiency with Microsoft Project is mandatory.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft SharePoint, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to conceptualize Projects from start to finish to effectively manage and keep initiative on schedule while adopting to sudden changes and shifting priorities.
  • Creates and motivates cross-functional & cross-departmental project teams, establishes roles and responsibilities, provides direction, fosters effective team skills, and ensures that project objectives are reached on time and within budget.
  • Ability to complete multiple, simultaneous projects with minimal supervision and prioritize incoming work appropriately.
  • Demonstrates innovation, flexibility, open-mindedness, and adaptability to meet objectives in a rapidly changing environment with shifting priorities.
  • Demonstrates effective Project Management skills through the development of project plans, resource allocation, plan execution, consistent communications with project team members and stakeholders, status reviews, and delivery of agreed upon results.
  • Ability to deal with unstructured, complex Projects that will require effective communication and negotiation skills to define and gain agreement on appropriate actions.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall project management, coordination, execution, control and completion of Workplace deliverables associated with the various projects.
  • End-to-end execution oversight for all project deliverables related to site renovation, closure or relocation.
  • Work closely with business functions to ensure alignment to timelines, costs, and track mutual dependencies.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional and virtual teams across - GREWS, IT, Facilities, Engineering, Corporate Affairs, Business functions, Vendors, Service Providers, etc.
  • Focus will be on managing and driving deliverables of the various work streams inside and outside of GREWS.
  • Responsible for managing the end-to-end Project lifecycle for very large complex initiatives and meet the required business objectives in a rapidly changing environment.
