About The Position

Intermediate District 287 is seeking a Work Experience Coordinator for their West Education Center in Minnetonka for the 2026-2027 school year. The district serves K-12 students and transition-age students (18-22 years old) from 12 member districts in the west metro area, offering specialized programs primarily focused on setting IV special education to meet diverse student needs. The district is committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment, employing a Trauma-Informed Approach to understand student behaviors and create a safe space. Each school provides comprehensive support services with a dedicated team including School Social Workers, Psychologists, Counselors, Behavior Intervention Specialists, and Student Safety Coaches. The district features small class sizes, averaging 6-8 students, to ensure personalized attention. Intermediate District 287 also emphasizes a commitment to diversity, with a strategic vision to hire and retain racially diverse and racially conscious staff at all organizational levels. This is a 1.0 FTE position.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
Must have a current MN teaching license in Teacher Coordinator Work Based Learning
Interested in candidates who are: diverse, bilingual, or have experience working with diverse populations
