About The Position

The Work Control Manager is responsible for all planning activities, including electrical and mechanical planning. This role supervises planning personnel, including staffing and performance management, and demonstrates a personal commitment to safety and quality. The position involves directing the full lifecycle of work control activities, ensuring effective communication with management, crafts, and clients, and facilitating clear communication with customers and team members. The manager will also perform planning tasks, collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams, and develop a comprehensive preventive maintenance program to ensure equipment reliability.

Requirements

  • Requires 15 years of combined construction, maintenance, engineering, and supervisory experience plus technical education.
  • Must be trained in NFPA70E requirements.
  • Must have knowledge of hoisting and rigging practices.
  • Must be capable of reading blueprints and schematic drawings.
  • Must have working knowledge of computer maintenance management system, preferably SOMAX.
  • HVAC experience is a plus.
  • Maximo experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Directs the full lifecycle of work control activities, including prioritization, scheduling, resource allocation, and closeout.
  • Communicates with management, crafts, and clients to ensure thorough understanding of job requirements.
  • Facilitates clear communication with customers, management, direct reports, and crafts.
  • Performs I & E / Mechanical planning when needed.
  • Collaborates with engineering and maintenance teams to accurately plan, scope, and estimate project work.
  • Researches and analyzes design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data.
  • Performs Lockout/Tag-out Issuing Authority duties.
  • Develops, implements, and manages a comprehensive preventive maintenance program.
  • Supervises planning personnel, including staffing and performance management.
  • Provides oversight work in the field for work package preparation.
  • Ensures that planning personnel follow all safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a safe working environment and demonstrates awareness of ES&H requirements.
  • Identifies, assesses, and resolves operational and technical risks.
  • Schedules work to be performed and monitors progress.
  • Monitors cost, ensuring only legitimate expenses are requested and approved.
  • Ensures timely and cost-effective completion of facility services.
  • Responsible for Safety & Health performance and communication of safety awareness.
  • Participates in self-assessment programs and management walk-around process.
  • Acts as the FSS Manager’s delegate during absences.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
