85.WORK BASED LEARNING SPEC. (Dept. Teaching & Learning) RESPONSIBILITIES: Facilitate classroom opportunities that align with career exploration and work-based learning. Identify interested and qualified students. Facilitate work-based learning placement. Ensure equitable access to work-based learning experiences. Assess student interest in various career pathways and use the information to develop career exploration curriculum. Coordinate and assist in the facilitation of employment skills workshops such as job interviewing, job application and resume writing. Conduct student work-based learning orientation including duties and responsibilities, compensation, benefits, schedules, and working conditions. Provide students with school-based opportunities to build their knowledge and skills in preparation for WBL experiences outside of the classroom. Cultivate community partnerships to help secure contacts for students. Finalize each student internship training agreement and training plan with the student, parent/guardian, and employer. Help maintain an employer/labor database to track student internship opportunities as well provide reports on program participants. Coordinate summer learning experiences. Provide professional development for teachers surrounding work-based learning and how to embed in their classroom. Collaborate across disciplines to support implementation of work-based learning. Review and analyze data surrounding student access and engagement to work based learning. Other duties as assigned. SALARY: Salary will be based on the FY2025-26 salary schedule. Requirements

  • Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with administrators and other instructional staff.
  • Ability to speak and write effectively.
  • Knowledge and experience with current best practices in work-based learning

Nice To Haves

  • Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in any other content area, is preferred but not required.
