About The Position

The Work-Based Learning (WBL) Student – Assembly Technician supports the production team by assisting with the assembly of components and finished products. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment while developing foundational skills in safety, quality, teamwork, and basic mechanical assembly.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Work-Based Learning (WBL) or similar school program
  • Minimum age as required by state/federal labor laws
  • Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment
  • Basic math and reading comprehension skills
  • Reliable transportation and attendance

Nice To Haves

  • Interest in manufacturing, engineering, or technical trades
  • Basic familiarity with hand tools (preferred but not required)

Responsibilities

  • Assist in assembling parts and components according to work instructions and blueprints
  • Use basic hand tools and equipment safely and effectively
  • Follow standardized work procedures and production schedules
  • Inspect parts and finished products for quality and accuracy
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation (5S standards)
  • Support material handling, including moving parts and supplies as needed
  • Communicate issues, defects, or concerns to supervisors promptly
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
  • Participate in training and learning activities as part of the WBL program
