About The Position

This Woodworking Engineer will create precise technical drawings for high-profile, custom woodworking projects, including cabinetry, casework, desks, walls, and display fixtures. Working in an exciting and dynamic environment, this role collaborates closely with project management and production teams to interpret specifications, ensure accuracy, and optimize designs for efficient manufacturing. The Woodworking Engineer will see designs through every stage of production, bringing high-quality projects to life in a fun, creative atmosphere. Expertise in CAD software and a strong understanding of woodworking materials are essential.

Requirements

  • 2 years’ experience in drafting, engineering, or architectural millwork-related field preferred
  • Experience in AutoCAD, Cabinet Vision, Solidworks, Microvellum, or other engineering software preferred
  • Engineering, woodworking, cabinet making, or industrial design background
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Products
  • Sees challenges as opportunities and enjoys discovering solutions to overcome them

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Cabinet Vision software to design, draft, and process custom cabinets and woodwork
  • Create submittal and shop drawing packages
  • Prepare a bill of materials for projects processed to the floor
  • Assemble work order packets for the shop
  • Provide support to the production, supply chain, and project management team for your projects
  • Consistently uphold departmental quality standards
  • Learns Britten Woodworks software systems, processes, and procedures quickly, and consistently shares ideas for improvement
  • Continuously seeks out ways to increase the profitability and efficiency of their projects
  • Maintains a high level of respect and communication with internal and external clients
  • Has an intimate knowledge of their projects throughout all stages of planning and production
  • Currently utilizes industry trends, materials, and technologies to provide the client with creative solutions
