About The Position
The Sander/Finisher is responsible for preparing and finishing wood products to a high standard of quality. Work can include tasks such as sanding, oiling, applying finish, inspecting, and packing, with the ability to handle many different species of wood. This role may also assist with other shop tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Strong attention to detail; able to notice small defects and fill voids.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions.
- Comfortable with repetitive, hands-on work.
- Able to lift 40 lbs and stand for long periods.
- Team-oriented, willing to assist in other shop tasks when needed.
Nice To Haves
- Potential opportunity to load and run our Cobot Experience with sanding, finishing, or related woodwork is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Sand wood surfaces by hand and with orbital sanders.
- Apply oil and, in some cases, additional finishing products.
- Inspect each piece for quality and consistency, and fill voids as needed.
- Work with different wood species and adjust techniques as needed.
- Assist with packing and preparing products for shipment.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a safe work area.
