The Woodcraft Associate role will be responsible for producing, designing, crafting, and testing wood products made of used barrel staves such as customized barrel heads, cigar trays, and furniture using specialized tools. This role will be based at Buffalo Trace Distillery (BTD) to increase handcrafted products to sell. The Woodcraft Associate will be actively monitored on production quality, quantity, and consumer engagement. The top skill necessary for this role will be developing a world-class customer service attitude to build Buffalo Trace Distillery into one of the most desired places to be. Additionally, the Woodcraft Associate will provide continuous feedback on how to improve processes, products, and quality control methods in Whiskey Woodcraft. They will also be responsible for producing new and unique items for the Buffalo Trace Distillery Gift Shop to delight consumers and increase overall profitability at BTD. The role includes hitting established KPIs on quantity, quality, and profitability, engaging with customers at BTD, and acting as an ambassador for the distillery in displaying the processes of Whiskey Woodcraft. The Woodcraft Associate will craft production reports and work alongside the director of Whiskey Woodcraft and the barrel warehouse team to best sort. They will also engage with customers on new tour routes and be a part of the overall experience at BTD, supporting BTD in becoming an exceptional homeplace via tour engagement and overall efficiency.
