About The Position

Hope Haven is an accredited resource for disability services and advocacy. We offer service programs and support to meet a broad range of needs for children, adults, and families – from physical, mental, and intellectual to residential, vocational, and spiritual. Wood Shop Supervisor: Duties and Responsibilities Assist clients with getting to their assigned work stations and give work instructions and support as needed. Supervise all work in process. Instruct clients in development of positive work behaviors and performance skills Daily responsibilities for quality control of production within TAC’s wood shop, meeting all production demands and deadlines. Responsible for well-organized and clean working area, following Agency Specific safety awareness procedures/guidelines. Provide assistance to clients who require special attention to and from the job, on the job, clean up, special hygiene needs, toileting, meal and break periods, etc. Fill out agency required forms and reports such as time cards, incident and accident reports, seizure reports, etc. Coordinate the development and implementation of the Individual Service Plan using a person-centered planning process, responsible for information for the written vocational component of the plan. Assist in the planning and implementation of vocational goals and objectives as determined by Service Plan. Complete vocational assessments as requested Record client progress notes, production records, client piece rate counts, and record data on timecards each day. Review and document progress of Service Plan objectives on a monthly basis in the vocational program. Assume leadership responsibilities in absence of the Employment Specialist. Represent Hope Haven management through decision making progress.

Requirements

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Requires capacity to coordinate quality production according to established schedule
  • Knowledge and ability to practice safety rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and production equipment, set up, and maintenance.
  • Ability to supervise, teach, train, and motivate persons with disabilities, to reach their vocational potential.
  • Reliable personal vehicle and proof of state minimum insurance coverage.
  • Ability to pass physical.
  • Clearance from all applicable background checks as required by service standards.
  • Valid Class C driver’s license required
