About The Position

Leer is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Wood Production Operator to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately processing wood materials according to cut lists and blueprints, measuring and cutting components to the correct specifications, and creating tongue and groove joints using automated equipment. The ideal candidate will maintain high standards for quality, precision, and safety.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Strong communication skills, strong math skills, and a positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in using drills, saws and small hand tools efficiently and safely.
• Proficiency in reading and using tape measures.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Adherence to all safety policies and protocols.
• Ability to work mandatory overtime as needed.
• Ability to lift 20-40 pounds on a continual basis.
• Ability to safely operate drills, table saws and hand tools.
• Ability to reach below shoulder height frequently.
• Ability to move carts loaded with wood.
• Ability to stand on concrete for up to 10 hours a day.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in manufacturing a plus.
• Carpentry experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Interpret and follow cut lists, blueprints, and work orders to determine material requirements and cutting instructions.
• Measure and cut wood accurately to specified dimensions using saws and cutting tools.
• Operate automated equipment to create tongue and groove joints and other profile cuts.
• Inspect materials before and after processing to ensure quality, consistency, and accuracy.
• Monitor machinery and equipment for safe and efficient operation; perform basic troubleshooting or alert maintenance when needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety guidelines.
• Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
