Wonderful Scholar Summer Internship, Environmental Health & Safety
About The Position
Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and responsible intern for a full-time 8-week summer internship. In this position, you will gain hands-on experience under the guidance of our talented professionals. This position will be based on-site at Wonderful Citrus located in Delano, CA. The schedule for this internship is Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM . Days of the week and work hours may change due to business needs. Here’s what you’ll do: Assist in reviewing packinghouse operational assets to help identify energized equipment and potential safety hazards. Support the development of lockout/tagout (LOTO) maps and procedures for various assets and tasks, working alongside an experienced maintenance team member. Collaborate with an assigned clerical support team member to maintain accurate records and documentation. Review existing Confined Space documentation to verify accuracy and completeness. Help update current Confined Space documents and assist in creating new maps and documentation for additional assets as identified. Identify required safety signage for each asset and help compile a list of signage needs. Support the process of requesting and organizing the purchase of safety signage. Assist with applying and installing safety signage on all applicable assets throughout the facility.
Requirements
- Must be a Wonderful Scholar
- High School Diploma/General Education Diploma and currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Minimum of beginner proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-directed and able to work autonomously
- Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and idea
