About The Position

The Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) at Essen Healthcare is responsible for providing comprehensive gynecological care to female patients across various age groups. This role emphasizes well-woman care, including annual evaluations, health screenings, and management of prenatal and chronic conditions. The WHNP will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality care and support for patients throughout their reproductive health journey.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in a Nurse Practitioner Program (WHNP only)
• Current New York State License as a WH Nurse Practitioner
• National Board Certification required
• Bilingual (Spanish Speaking) is a plus
• EMR/EHR experience is a plus

Nice To Haves

• Experience in gynecology or women's health
• Familiarity with telehealth services

Responsibilities

• Examining and monitoring women throughout pregnancy
• Performing abdominal and transvaginal ultrasounds to monitor fetal growth and heart rate
• Managing high-risk and abnormal pregnancies and supporting patients in decision-making
• Educating patients on health management, disease prevention, and hygiene
• Performing prenatal and in utero screenings to monitor health
• Counseling patients in family planning, birth control, and contraceptive methods
• Helping expectant mothers manage pain and discomfort during pregnancy
• Assisting midwives and OB/GYN physicians during deliveries
• Maintaining current licenses and certifications through continuing education
