About The Position

Hartford Healthcare Medical Group is seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their Minimally Invasive Gynecologic surgery team. The role involves practicing in a collaborative team environment where all providers are connected through Epic, a fully-integrated EMR system. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will provide holistic, quality, and cost-effective advanced practice care for patients, families, and others in a target population, participating in the medical management of patients to achieve or maintain optimal health status, manage disease, and reduce risk of illness. The APP will engage in independent decision-making regarding the health care of individuals, families, and groups across the lifespan and the health care continuum. This position supports the MIGs team in both the operating room at Hartford and Manchester Hospital and outpatient clinical care in West Hartford, Glastonbury, and potentially South Windsor, combining surgical first assisting with longitudinal outpatient care.

Requirements

  • Completion of Approved Nurse Practitioner Program if appropriate for specialty
  • Current APRN license is required after 1994
  • Certification according to CT state law
  • 1-3 years of experience with surgical assistance
  • 1-3 years’ experience with Gynecology patients

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree or PhD in Nursing or PA program strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide holistic, quality, and cost-effective advanced practice care for patients, families, and others in a target population
  • Participate in the medical management of patients to achieve or maintain optimal health status, manage disease, and reduce risk of illness
  • Engage in independent decision-making regarding the health care of individuals, families, and groups across the lifespan and the health care continuum
  • First assist in robotic, laparoscopic, and hysteroscopic procedures in the operating room
  • Prepare and maintain the sterile field
  • Manage pre- and post-operative patient care, including pain and wound management
  • Evaluate and treat complex benign gynecologic conditions in the clinic setting
  • Perform office-based procedures such as endometrial biopsies and IUD insertions
  • Oversee postoperative follow-up and surgical planning
  • Provide patient education
  • Ensure accurate clinical documentation
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, coordinated care
