About The Position

This job opportunity is for a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP), Physician Assistant (PA), or Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) at an FQHC facility in California. It is an outpatient role specializing in women's health. The assignment is for 12 weeks, starting on 5/26/2026, with a definite possibility of extension. Credentialing is expected to take 3 weeks. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with the potential to accommodate a 4x10 schedule. The average patient volume is 23-24, though there is a 10-20% no-show rate. The role involves a range of procedures and primary preventative care for adolescent and adult women. The Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system used is Epic. The facility aims to provide 1.5 Medical Assistants per provider, with current staffing at 1 MA and active hiring for more. Appointments are scheduled through a call center in Atwater, CA. Candidates must pass a name clear process before their presentation is sent.

Requirements

Active CA license and furnishing license (attached to DEA)
BC BLS, ACLS certifications
Current basic CPR certification
Ability to obtain privileges
Ability to pass a background check
Must have 1 year of most recent Epic experience
Must have worked a locums assignment in the past

Responsibilities

Perform history and physical
Provide primary preventative care in adolescent and adult women
Perform debridement and general care for superficial wounds and minor superficial surgical procedures
Provide basic contraceptive care (condoms, hormonal pills, ring, depo, etc.)
Evaluate and treat common vaginal infections
Perform Papsmears
Conduct pregnancy testing
Screen for high-risk pregnancies, pregnancy complications, and postpartum complications
Perform sexually transmitted infection screen and treatment
