Job Objective: Monitors and operates wells and associated surface equipment including pumps, pumping units, valves, tanks, and other vessels, and helps maintain a safe work environment for the company. This is a represented position with the USW 4959. Essential Job Responsibilities: Shut in and bring on wells as needed. Responsible for 2 or more pads on a shift. Ability to oversee and approve work on prescribed well pad(s) Proficient in permit to work procedures Familiar with the ASH book requirements Inspects equipment for safety problems, leaks, or wear and tear, and makes or recommends appropriate repairs. Creates work orders for repairs identified to be needed Procures necessary materials and supplies to complete daily tasks Ability to work in a safe manner and follow the companies safe work procedures Ability to work in harsh artic slope conditions ie: high winds and low visibility. Ability and competence to drive ¾ ton pick up throughout the field in potentially adverse conditions Ability to hook up to, back and pull trailers Retrieves spinouts on WCs as needed Completes other daily records as required by the position Implements company’s “Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasures Plan” (SPCC), as needed. Reports leaks or defective equipment, wellheads, and flowlines to supervisor. Tightens loose connections and services equipment as needed. Inspects pipelines, valves, and flanges to detect malfunctions, such as loose connections and leaks. Accountable for all personnel on the pad(s) at all times. Monitors meter and pressure readings as needed. Records readings and test results, including daily rounds Open and shuts valves to regulate flow of oil into and out of manifold buildings Shuts down equipment, following supervisor’s instructions, in case of an emergency. Ability to respond to emergency situations Monitors and responds to alarms as needed while on shift. Work well with Production Control Center to operate and respond to situations in the field Adheres to the company’s values – Integrity, Ownership, Urgency, Alignment and Innovation. Ability to support and work well within a team concept Willingness to take direction from front line supervision Other Job Responsibilities: Ability to be available 24 hours per day (on call for questions, emergencies, etc.). Encouraged to participate on emergency response team for location.
