About The Position

Position Summary: Simplex is currently accepting applications for 2nd shift positions with scheduled hours of 3:15 PM – 11:45 PM. This position is designated as a second shift role and includes a second-shift differential. Candidates will begin employment with a training period on 1st shift to complete onboarding and job-specific training. After training is completed, the employee will transition to the assigned 2nd shift schedule. Candidates must be able to work the designated 2nd shift hours on a regular basis following the training period. The length of the training period may vary based on operational needs and the employee’s progress. This position offers the opportunity to join a growing manufacturing team in a stable production environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Installs wire according to wiring strapping diagrams.
Able to use and read a tape measure.
Uses hand tools, crimpers, soldering irons, wire strippers, and other hand and power tools.
Reads wiring diagrams, blueprints, wire routing, and engineering specifications to determine lengths, types, routing, and gauge of wiring and cables to be installed.
Selects specified wires and cables, routes according to instructions, and fastens connections by bolting, screwing, soldering, or plugging, using wrenches, screwdrivers, soldering iron, and plugging gun.
Wires, installs terminals, and marks wires.
May stand or sit for extended periods of time.

Requirements

• Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required.
• Good communications skills relative to supervisor and other related departments.
• Ability to lift 30-50 pounds. More with help.
• Physical ability to work in awkward positions such as kneeling, bending, and overhead for extended periods.
• Ability to climb and work from a step ladder.
• Ability to operate various shop tools (including power and manually operated).
• Ability to distinguish between different wire colors including blue, green, red and black
• Must be able to communicate (read, write and speak) the English language clearly
