About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airlines (BCA), ETC (Electrical Technical Center) Electrical Design organization has a great opportunity for a Wiring Design Engineer (Experienced or Senior) in Everett, WA and Renton, WA to help us define the future of commercial aerospace with innovative ideas that advance our culture of safety and quality that our customers, the flying public, expect. Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Experienced and Senior Wiring Design Engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 3+ years of experience with wire harness, electrical and/or mechanical design.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of experience using wire design tools such as WIRS, MAPPER, CADDS and/or Capital Logic.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain electrical wire harness detail, assembly and installation designs for our diverse portfolio of advanced Commercial Aircraft.
  • Integrate the functional system requirements into an efficient logical and physical wire harness architecture throughout the airplane.
  • Select proper materials and parts based on electrical and environmental properties, functional separation based on systems safety and failure analysis, and efficient build processes.
  • Develop and analyze engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests and shop revision requests).
  • Collaborate with partners on the factory floor to ensure designs can be built efficiently and safely.
  • Follow and look for improvements to documented processes, specifications and procedures that support safe and quality design and manufacture of electrical commodities.
  • Develop basic statements of work.
  • Participate in technical reviews of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection.
  • Analyze functional and physical requirements to assure the development of integrated designs and system architecture.
  • Support critical analysis and design reviews.
  • Work under general supervision of a lead engineer and an expert mentor.
