About The Position

The Controls Assembly Lead combines hands-on fabrication responsibilities with leadership, coordination, and quality assurance. This position serves as the go-to resource for the electrical assembly team, helping to troubleshoot issues, maintain workflow, execute process improvements, provide training, and uphold our internal standards for safety, accuracy, and craftsmanship.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in industrial electrical assembly, including control panels and wiring.
  • Present leadership experience (2-5 years preferred) influencing those who are not direct reports.
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings to guide assembly.
  • Comfortable working with hand tools, wire strippers, crimpers, and other fabrication equipment.
  • Familiarity with 24VDC, 120VAC, and 480VAC/3 phase circuits.
  • Experience with UL508A, NEC, and NFPA standards and other industrial safety practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail, communication, and time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the assembly of electrical systems and equipment according to bills of material, drawings, customer requirements, and company standards.
  • Assist in the development of, and provide, comprehensive training for skid wirers, ensuring proper understanding of bills of materials, drawings, products, using the planning tool (Delfoi), equipment handling, and assembly procedures.
  • Deploy and adjust resource assignment as necessary in coordination with the scheduling team, ensuring all components are assembled and wired efficiently, with attention to detail and quality, to meet project deadlines.
  • Perform and advise on tasks such as cutting, forming, bending, and connecting wiring per project specifications.
  • Review and update electrical drawings, P&IDs, and general arrangement drawings with accurate redline markups for engineering feedback.
  • Work with continuous improvement / quality team to identify recurrent issues and implement solutions.
  • Identify and resolve build issues related to design, vendor components, or documentation errors.
  • Assist with fabrication or production tasks outside of the department as necessary.
