The Operations Engineer is responsible for supervising service team members while performing wireline services on oil and gas wells. The individual may specialize in Open-Hole, Cased-Hole, or seek proficiency in both fields of expertise. This role involves overseeing a wireline crew, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

  • Supervise a two or three-person wireline crew at the well site or shop.
  • Maintain and care for mobile equipment including wireline trucks, crane trucks, and other fleet vehicles.
  • Maintain and care for downhole electronic wireline instruments used for gathering geologic or well geometry data.
  • Ensure data is recorded and plotted as a function of depth on well logs, with some interpretation required at the wellsite.
  • Proficiently use explosives and operate in compliance with API RP-67.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with all rules, regulations, and laws in accordance with appropriate federal, state, or local enforcement agencies.
  • Adhere to customer rules and policies while on customer's property.
  • Follow company rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure quality control of log data and service quality that meets company and customer expectations.
  • Communicate with customers and ensure satisfaction with well site services.
  • Demand safe operations for all individuals on the jobsite.
  • Experience in supervising a wireline crew.
  • Knowledge of maintenance and care of mobile equipment and downhole electronic wireline instruments.
  • Skills in well log analysis including formation evaluation, production logging, cement bond log, and well geometry integrity.
  • Proficiency in the safe use of explosives and compliance with API RP-67 regulations.
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance and safety standards in the oil and gas industry.
