As a member of the Satellite Connectivity Group, you will work on the satellite network that enables connectivity to iPhone when off the grid without cellular or Wi-Fi coverage. Every day, Apple customers use Emergency SOS, Roadside assistance, and Messages via satellite to stay connected when they have no other means to communicate. You will have the unique and rewarding opportunity to shape this and other critical services, to the benefit and safety of millions of Apple device users. The Satellite Connectivity Group is seeking a Wireless Communication Software Engineer with a strong foundation in Digital Signal Processing, close familiarity with protocols like 5G NR, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi, and excellent software engineering skills.

Requirements

• Background in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and wireless communication systems.
• Experience with existing protocols (e.g. CDMA, OFDM, etc.).
• Knowledge of physical layer algorithms and medium access control processing.
• Experience with Software-Defined Radio and hands-on lab work.
• Strong C++ and Python programming skills.
• Ability to produce high-quality, production-ready software components.
• Sharp analytical skills to measure performance and debug issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail focused on customer experiences.

Nice To Haves

• Experience developing large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience with GPU programming.
• Experience with cryptography and channel coding.
• Experience profiling and developing highly performant code.
• Experience with network emulators and wireless communications test equipment.
• Golang proficiency.
