About The Position

Wire Transfer Manager is responsible for directing and administering the operational efforts and activities of the Wire Transfer Department including associated administrative and accounting duties. Responsible for the organizing, coordinating and managing the bank’s Wire Transfer Department team providing support to the bank’s network of branches and departments. Responsible for ensuring outstanding customer relations as well as promoting the bank’s service culture in all staff members through personal coaching and motivating staff. Ensure adherence to department policies, procedures and regulatory requirements including state and federal regulations governing Wire Transfers.

  • Preferably have a 4 year college degree with excellent communication skills; or 8 to 10 or more years related experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years progressive experience in management and branch operations
  • Ability to operate related computer applications and related business equipment: Proficiency in the use of: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet and Third Party Cash Management, Wire Systems, Hyperion and other software bank application(s
  • May be required to work off-shift in emergency situations

Responsibilities

  • Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training as needed.
  • Lead, influence, and build camaraderie within the department.
  • Manage/direct, articulate and communicate performance expectations, short term and long term strategic goals to the staff.
  • Perform assessments of the activities and performances of the staff utilizing various data and reports.
  • Create, monitor and evaluate critical drivers for team members. Creating a strong workforce by developing competent individuals
  • Attend department meetings to provide/share insights and updates.
  • Facilitate department and/or one-on-one meetings as needed.
  • May on occasions coordinate, test and implement system upgrades and enhancements working with other stakeholders.
  • Ensure wire related research and response to customer wire inquiries, research, subpoenas and similar request
  • Demonstrate brand behaviors through daily interactions with management, colleagues, and internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrate highly developed leadership and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Represent/participate in Bank sponsored events and community outreach programs.
  • Oversee activities of the Wire Transfer Department to ensure an efficient process flow promoting productivity, accuracy, accountability.
  • Oversee the processing of centralized banking activities to ensure an efficient process flow promoting productivity, accuracy and accountability.
  • Develop and recommend policy, procedural and automation enhancements ensuring effectiveness of daily wire operations.
  • Create and implement long term business plans to ensure continuity of business operations including responses to events that interrupt normal business operations.
  • Handle operational issues encountered on the job and rely on professional judgment in making financial decisions/recommendations to the Central Operations Administrator or Management when appropriate.
  • Ensure records/files are retained in accordance with record retention requirements.
  • Complete other duties/tasks and projects as assigned to meet the needs of the department and/or business
  • Develop and recommend policy, procedural and automation enhancements ensuring effectiveness of daily wire operations.
  • Ensure adherence to bank policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, including state and federal regulations.
  • Maintain system application(s) including user profiles, permissions, templates, etc.
  • Ensure Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) checks are performed on covered transactions
  • Monitor, review and analyze data providing reports of operational activities, risks and trends to management on a regular basis
  • Elevate high risk concerns to the Central Operations Administrator or designee
  • Responsible to ensure due diligence on business unit vendors are performed regularly as required in the bank’s vendor management policy
  • Ensure client data is protected from the public and secured against fraud by enforcing access rights and verification levels
  • Periodically conduct self-audit to ensure all banking compliance standards are met. Evaluate, respond, and correct any audit exceptions or concerns
  • Ensure attendance of all required training including annual Bank Secrecy Act Training which includes emphasis on identifying suspicious activity.
  • Coordinate, test and implement system upgrades and enhancements working with other stakeholders.
  • Ensure records/files are retained in accordance with record retention requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals as well as communicate to staff
  • Complete all bank mandated training.
