About The Position

Assists maître d’ with checking in and managing the seating of all guests, both reservations and walk-ins. Acknowledges and interacts with the restaurant guests, fellow team members, and supervisors in a polite and courteous manner to ensure gracious hospitality.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year host experience or equivalent related Tao Group Hospitality experience required
  • Previous experience in a high-volume restaurant/nightclub/lounge
  • Ability to write, read, and verbally communicate
  • Must have good positive energy throughout the day
  • Must be able to print legibly for Team Members, management, and guests to read
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to move quickly
  • Must be able to push and lift up to 75 lbs. with or without assistance
  • Work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of noise, crowds, and smoke, the severity of which depends upon the guest volume
  • May work extended hours irregular shifts, evening and/or weekend shifts, and holiday work may be required
  • Exposure to cleaning materials

  • Office, Casino, Nightclub, Bar, Lounge, and/or Restaurant working environment
  • Maintain a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance adhering to Company standards

Responsibilities

  • Anticipate and accommodate guest needs with professionalism and courtesy
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the entrance area and overall venue
  • Comply with Department of Health regulations and company sanitation standards
  • Actively take, confirm, and manage guest reservations
  • Assist with incoming calls and answer guest questions
  • Assist the maître d’ in optimizing reservation flow and seating availability to accommodate as many walk-ins as possible, ensuring seamless shift operations
  • Provide initial table setup support to the dining room team
  • Properly set-up front desk area, perform side-work and other opening/closing procedures as directed by management, including:
  • Printing and organizing current menus
  • Completing all assigned opening and closing side work
  • Report any breakage or damage to equipment or furniture promptly to managemen
  • Attend and actively participate in daily pre-service meetings and training sessions
  • Learn through observation and collaboration, and lead by example
  • Maintain a positive, professional demeanor at all times
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Tao Group Hospitality, its partner brands, and the surrounding hotel environment when applicable
  • Collaborate with and support fellow team members to ensure seamless service
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
