About The Position

The Wine and Spirits Cashier is responsible for maintaining outstanding customer service and working closely with all Wine and Spirits associates to ensure all company policies and procedures are followed, department goals are met, and associates' needs are addressed. This role allows associates to personalize a guest's experience by providing expertise on the best Wine & Spirits products for all occasions.

Requirements

  • High School Education or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age to sample products sold in the wine and spirits department.
  • Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with customers.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies.
  • Ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards.
  • Proper training and knowledge of equipment/procedures: hand jack, baler, forklift, pallet jack, trash compactor, proper lifting techniques, and proper scanning techniques.
  • Must be over the age of 18.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all department standards are met in the Wine and Spirits department.
  • Observe sales floor and back stock conditions; take action to correct areas of opportunity.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels and ensure accurate pricing on products received and sold.
  • Communicate and work cooperatively with vendors, Wine and Spirits Manager, and associates to maintain standards and exceed guest expectations.
  • Provide customer service to guests and assist them in finding items on the sales floor.
  • Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements.
  • Accurately and efficiently process transactions and maintain all cash and media at the registers.
  • Take orders and other special requests.
  • Answer the telephone and assist callers using proper phone etiquette.
  • Address guest concerns and resolve issues when a guest is not satisfied.
  • Check out customer purchases on a cash register.
  • Maintain orderly appearance of register area and stock supplies.
  • Support and execute superior customer service.
