About The Position

The Loan Processing Associate I at Capital Bank, N.A. is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while managing the loan application process from initial intake to final closing. This role involves coordinating communication with clients, borrowers, and various third parties, ensuring compliance with SBA regulations and bank policies. The associate will also participate in departmental meetings to discuss process improvements and contribute to the overall efficiency of the loan processing team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field required.
  • 1-2 years experience in administration, finance, or a similar industry.
  • Experience managing multiple tasks while delivering high levels of customer service with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with loan processing and loan closings.
  • Knowledge of commercial loan products and basic accounting.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SBA rules/regulations preferred.
  • A working knowledge of commercial credit principles and pertinent laws is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the entire loan application lifecycle, from initial intake to final closing.
  • Collect and verify borrower documentation, ensuring completeness and conducting due diligence tasks.
  • Coordinate with Loan Officers and Underwriters throughout the loan process.
  • Maintain meticulous attention to detail to ensure adherence to all SBA regulations and bank policies.
  • Prepare comprehensive loan packages for underwriting review and approval.
  • Facilitate the loan closing process, ensuring all documents are signed and conditions are met.
  • Assist with servicing of funded loans and ongoing compliance.
  • Stay updated on current SBA loan programs and industry trends.
  • Submit 4506-C to the IRS and complete tax verifications.
  • Order and review necessary third-party reports as needed.
  • Interface directly with SBA loan specialist staff and manage relationships with third-party vendors.
  • Actively contribute to weekly department meetings to identify and implement process improvements.
