About The Position

SAIC is seeking a Windows Systems Engineer to join our team at Fort Eisenhower, Georgia. The role involves providing technical expertise for the optimal employment, utilization, and integration of Windows Server 2022 virtualized servers and Windows 11 virtualized desktop images. The engineer will provide expert advice in support of operational requirements and required troubleshooting activities. Responsibilities include maintaining technical currency to provide subject matter expertise on technology improvements, researching and maintaining awareness of policy, guidance & regulation changes, and implementing support to new/emerging Windows operating systems and/or features. The engineer will also assist in the automated deployment and configuration of required servers/workstations in a virtualized environment, collaborate with tier III level support for troubleshooting, conduct functionality testing, and prepare technical documentation for tier III level support personnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience; four (4) years experience considered in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in DoD, Army or INSCOM intelligence modernization, operations, systems & organizations.
  • In-depth experience with Windows Server 2022, Windows 11, Active Directory, Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), and group policy management.
  • Active Security+ certification.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to occasionally travel (~10%) in support of INSCOM G7 requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant IT certifications (Windows Server/Desktop).
  • Familiarity with Active Directory Certificate Services, Structured Query Language (SQL), and Common Internet File System (CIFS).
  • Experience with the Converged Infrastructure (CI) Distributed Processing, Exploitation, Dissemination (DPED) Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise for the optimal employment, utilization, and integration of Windows Server 2022 virtualized servers and Windows 11 virtualized desktop images.
  • Maintain technical currency to provide subject matter expertise on technology improvements.
  • Research and maintain awareness of policy, guidance & regulation changes.

  • Assist in the automated deployment and configuration of required servers/workstations in a virtualized environment.
  • Collaborate externally with tier III level support to assist in troubleshooting of Windows based virtualized servers/workstations.
  • Conduct functionality testing ahead of delivery to ensure proper operation and compliance with Department of Defense cybersecurity standards.
  • Prepare technical documentation of implementation guidance for tier III level support personnel.
