About The Position

Bluewater Federal is looking for a Windows Systems Administrator to support the Department of the Navy, Naval Sea Systems Command, The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD).

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional experience in relation to Windows system administration of networks and software systems.
  • Must have a Security+ certification
  • Must have an active Top Secret clearance
  • Experience in system backup/recovery, basic software management, security and library management, installation and configuration of hardware, operating systems and COTS software, operating computer systems in different operating environments, sizing, performance, tuning, hardware/software/network trouble shooting and resource allocation.
  • Experience in maintaining proficiency on major network security tools such as firewalls.
  • Experience developing system specifications and performing market research procurement tasks.
  • Experience with different network protocols including TCP/IP.
  • Experience of computing and networking vulnerabilities, and attach and latest detect methods.
  • Proven administration experience with Windows Server/Client in u/c‑RDT&E and enterprise environments; familiarity with cloud integration (Azure/AWS GovCloud), VDI, and storage services.
  • Hands‑on with GPO design, AD schema/OU hygiene, patch orchestration, endpoint hardening, and incident/problem/change processes in Government ITSM tools

Responsibilities

  • Provide full life‑cycle administration of Windows servers, workstations, and VDI, including Active Directory (on‑prem/Azure AD), patch/software deployment, certificate services, backup/recovery, and compliance with DISA STIGs and Navy RMF across hybrid environments
  • Build, configure, patch, secure, and document Windows servers/workstations; manage AD/Azure AD, GPO, and identity/access services across complex/hybrid environments.
  • Operate and maintain WSUS/Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (or equivalent) for patch and software distribution; manage VDI provisioning and profiles.
  • Administer Enterprise Certificate Authority/PKI services; manage certificate renewals and certificate‑based authentication requirements.
  • Maintain DISA STIG checklists, remediate vulnerabilities, update A&A/RMF artifacts, and report antivirus signature status.
  • Perform imaging/baseline deployments (approved standard images), IMACs, printer administration, backup/restore, and ticket management to SLA
