A week in the life of a Windows System Administrator includes supporting Production and Development direct support to an On-premise Windows infrastructure. You will be responsible for full Life Cycle support of On-Premised hosted Systems/Applications. Your role will involve reviewing, evaluating, and fine-tuning system performance to achieve peak efficiency and reliability for Mission Systems/Applications. You will monitor the environment to ensure adequate resources (hardware, software, and throughput) are available to meet customer requirements. Additionally, you will coordinate problem resolution with customers, teammates, and vendors. You will evaluate new and existing system software/hardware and recommend changes to improve efficiency and functionality. Providing management with the status of projects, problem resolution, and/or other system administration statuses that require upward and outward communication will be part of your responsibilities. You will also provide the necessary system administration expertise to satisfy business requirements, through the process of documenting and implementing the final system administration solution. Furthermore, you will implement, monitor, and maintain Cybersecurity compliance vulnerability mitigations, working closely with the Cybersecurity team. Your tasks will also include performing Interface Administration, maintenance, and administrative scripting (PowerShell, Perl, etc.), supporting Tier II Production and Development support, reviewing system and application logs, and administering user accounts to properly control access to the systems.
