About The Position

At Corvid Technologies, our IT Department is dedicated to innovating and improving operational efficiency through cutting-edge technology and automation. Corvid is seeking a talented, customer-focused Windows System Administrator to join our team. This position will provide Microsoft expertise to the engineering and computational teams that provide technology and products to our DoD and commercial customers. The administrator in this position will focus on Windows endpoint/server security and efficiency, ensuring the availability of computer resources while adhering to Microsoft's best practices. They will perform enterprise-wide tasks as well as support individual users with unique challenges specific to that user's technology requirements. The technical nature of the work will allow for innovative solution development while keeping a solid foundation of scalability, functionality, and security. Tasking will include: Maintain and update system configurations at scale using PowerShell Ensure system compliance with NIST SP 800 security requirements Evaluate and test Windows features/OS upgrades prior to and through deployment - including creating custom solutions for wide-scale deployments and security risk mitigations Monitor and troubleshoot wide-scale issues in terms of updates, software, drivers, including problems relating to YubiKey 2FA logins, blue screens, high CPU utilization, reboot loops etc. Monitor security alerts for critical endpoint/server vulnerabilities and address using ManageEngine Endpoint Central, following suggested mitigation procedures to maximize availability and minimize risk Support testing and deployment of third-party and internally-developed software adhering to the Change Advisory process and testing/validating efficacy on low-priority systems Maintain and troubleshoot Active Directory, including advanced group policies, delegated permissions and authentication to/from Linux systems Assist the Linux team with common tasks such adding updated licenses to a flex or RLM license server, re-issuing licenses for in-house software, updating folder permissions, troubleshooting automatic reporting issues etc. Maintain and troubleshoot current windows services such as windows license servers, certificate authorities, file servers, RADIUS, Hyper-V hosts, Veeam, Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT), SolidWorks PDM, print servers, and Endpoint Central patch management system Deploying new services following best practices outlined in Microsoft's documentation for those services (as needed) Assist the helpdesk team in resolving day-to-day tickets (as needed) About Corvid: Corvid Technologies is an engineering firm specializing in using high-fidelity, computational modeling and simulation to analyze, design and manufacture products for aerospace, DoD, and commercial customers. Requirements

  • Candidate must be a US Citizen and obtain (and maintain) a DoD Top Secret Clearance
  • Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent STEM degree
  • 2-4 years of experience in Microsoft Windows administration
  • Experience administering Microsoft Group Policy Management and Active Directory
  • General experience in end-user support and maintenance of PC hardware and software in a Windows environment, specifically working with Windows 10/11 operating systems
  • Position is located in office with limited telecommuting opportunities

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update system configurations at scale using PowerShell
