About The Position

The Windows Engineer is responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, enhancement, and troubleshooting of complex and diverse IT systems, with a primary focus on Microsoft Windows environments. This role involves working independently or as part of a team on advanced systems analysis projects, supporting enterprise IT operations across multiple security domains and user bases. The position requires hands-on technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to interface with various organizational levels to resolve engineering issues.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant IT engineering experience (or 12 years without a degree; 6 years with a Master's).
  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • At least 1 year supporting enterprise IT systems across multiple security domains and user bases.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows environments and one or more of the following: Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, Systems Center, corporate storage, PKI integration, thin client/virtual infrastructure, network hardware, or cross-domain data flows.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants.
  • DOD 8570 Certification
  • This position requires an active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, maintain, and enhance Windows-based IT systems to meet operational requirements.
  • Lead or support major portions of medium to large IT projects; autonomously lead small projects.
  • Manage and tune Windows technologies to ensure expected availability and performance levels.
  • Review and test IT systems for adherence to requirements; document test results.
  • Resolve tickets and problem reports related to Windows technologies and hardware/software components, including COTS/GOTS products.
  • Recommend new technologies and processes for complex Windows-based systems.
  • Coordinate system installations and monitor equipment functioning.
  • Create build documentation for system administrators.
  • Identify system requirements for operations and security; collaborate with other engineers and staff to design and integrate components.
  • Develop and review system architecture, including relevant use cases for Windows environments.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to team members and end users.
  • Develop security procedures for design reviews and operational monitoring, recording, and responding to security events.
  • Prepare and deliver technical briefs and status reports to government and contractor personnel.
