About The Position

WWT is seeking a Windows Domain Controller System Administrator to manage, secure, and optimize our Active Directory environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex enterprise infrastructures, understands identity and access management deeply, and can ensure the reliability and performance of Windows-based systems. The ideal candidate will possess good communication, presentation, and writing skills. They will have a proven track record of being a problem solver and team player who is capable of working in a technically challenging environment supporting the Navy.

Requirements

  • BA/BS or equivalent years of combined experience and training.
  • 5+ years of IT experience with 1-2 years of hands on experience working with the technologies listed above.
  • DoD 8570 Certification: IAT Level II or higher (Security+ CE, CISSP, or equivalent).
  • 3–5 years of experience administering Windows Active Directory environments.
  • Strong experience administering Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) in enterprise environments.
  • Deep understanding of Active Directory architecture, FSMO roles, replication, and domain trust relationships.
  • Proficiency with PowerShell for automation and administrative tasks.
  • Hands-on experience with DNS, DHCP, GPO, and certificate services.
  • Knowledge of security best practices, including least privilege, auditing, and domain hardening.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper‑V).
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex authentication and domain service issues
  • Minimum Secret security clearance, TS/SCI preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate preferred

Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
  • Manage and monitor Domain Controllers, ensuring high availability, replication health, and security compliance.
  • Implement and maintain Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to enforce security standards and system configurations.
  • Oversee user and computer account lifecycle management, including provisioning, deprovisioning, and access control.
  • Perform regular system updates, patching, and hardening of Windows servers.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively resolve issues related to authentication, replication, and domain services.
  • Conduct backup and recovery operations for Active Directory and related services.
  • Collaborate with security teams to implement and maintain identity and access management (IAM) best practices.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and provide Tier 3 support for escalated issues.
