Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • 2-6 years of motor winding experience
  • Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent hand/finger coordination
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret BOMs, drawings, and work instruction sheets
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive motions, pushing, pulling, grasping, hammering, and lacing tasks
  • Willingness to stand 8-10 hours per day, 5-6 days per week
  • Familiarity with tools and equipment listed in the position summary (cranes, mallets, crimpers, hoists, coil holders, gauges, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Intermediate knowledge of electrical instruments related to motors, generators, or automatic equipment is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Interpret motor specifications, including Bills of Material (BOM) and Winding Instruction Sheets
  • Insert insulation and copper wire coils into motor stator cores according to specifications
  • Pre-form coil end turns using rubber mallets and forming paddles
  • Trim phase separators as required
  • Pre-form end turns and connect jumpers/lead cables using soldering, hydraulic, or air crimping tools
  • Perform hand-lace winding on coil end turns
  • Inspect coils to ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Cross-train and assist in other manufacturing areas as needed
  • Perform 3-4 different tasks within the winding department
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace following 5S principles
  • Meet weekly productivity expectations of 70%-85%
  • Operate various tools and equipment, including coil holders, cranes, wire cutters, hoists, mallets, pliers, lacing needles, crimpers, soldering torches, measuring tools, and more
