Are you looking for a new career with a stable company who has been in business for over 120 years? Yazoo Mills is hiring a Winding Operator to join our well-established and growing company in Hanover, PA on second shift in our Hanover Plant 2 facility.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective: Operation of spiral winder and cut-off saws and other miscellaneous equipment to fill customer orders.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand spec sheet and production orders to set-up machines correctly to produce a quality product.
• Measuring, calipering, and checking the overall quality of the tolerances per spec sheet.
• Understanding all machine operations to cut the product to spec sheet/customer specifications.
• Operate the machine effectively and efficiently to minimize waste.
• Analyze packaging and make adjustments when needed.
• Identifying quality deficiencies and ability to identify and perform corrective action.
• Ability to communicate finished product on production order.
• Comply with safety regulations/procedures and maintain clean and orderly work area.
• Must be willing to accept and receive supervision and assistance with regard to machine set-up and other essential tasks assigned.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs., bend, stoop and twist throughout the work day.
• Thread winders to produce a quality core utilizing various layers of paper.
• Perform Snake Lace technique continuously to secure tubes for transport.
• Tie bundles, pack boxes, stand on end etc.
