About The Position

The Wind Turbine Technician (GE 1.5) is responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the power plant and all associated equipment. This role involves performing multi-skilled operations and maintenance duties with minimal supervision, including major component replacements and troubleshooting tasks. The technician will also train and guide less experienced personnel while adhering to safety and environmental policies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• 6+ years of wind turbine maintenance experience.
• Proficient in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment.
• Understanding of turbine design, configurations, and normal operating parameters.
• Safe use of tools and knowledge of plant safety rules.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment.
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills in word-processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with instrumentation and electrical troubleshooting.
• Certification to operate various pieces of heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to and comply with all company safety and environmental policies and practices.
• Assist in activities at the site, including startups and shutdowns under supervision.
• Operate wind turbine systems and perform major component replacements.
• Plan, lead, and oversee major component replacements.
• Take immediate corrective action in response to emergency situations to minimize safety hazards.
• Monitor and perform maintenance work as directed, including disassembly, repair, and assembly of equipment.
• Perform corrective, predictive, and preventive maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation systems.
• Read meters and gauges to verify operating conditions and maintain logs.
• Maintain the shop area, equipment, tools, and company vehicle in a clean and safe condition.
• Compile records and reports, maintaining a daily log of activities.
• Lead a crew and assist co-workers with responsibilities when needed.
