The Wind Turbine Tech III position at Wanzek Construction is a full-time role responsible for the daily operations and maintenance of wind turbines. This position requires a strong commitment to safety and quality, ensuring that all tasks are performed correctly the first time. The Wind Tech III will also play a crucial role in developing, training, and mentoring Wind Tech I and II technicians, supervising crews of up to 20 individuals. Given the nature of the work, extensive travel throughout the United States is a requirement, as the technician will be working in various locations to maintain and repair wind turbines. In this role, the technician will be expected to promote and comply with all company and safety policies and procedures. Daily tasks will include climbing multiple wind towers, interacting professionally with customers and coworkers, and demonstrating a safety-first attitude. The technician will install, inspect, maintain, operate, and repair wind turbines, diagnosing and fixing any issues that could lead to unexpected shutdowns or operational failures. Routine maintenance, testing of electrical components, and troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical malfunctions are also key responsibilities. The Wind Tech III will provide technical support and guidance to ensure product quality and conformance, perform onsite audits of procedures and field processes, and drive necessary changes. Training and instructing crew members in safe work practices is essential, as is the ability to assume the responsibilities of a Lead Wind Technician when needed. The role demands expert-level skills in various areas of expertise, and the technician must take personal responsibility for health and safety, adhering to Wanzek's Zero Injury principles.
