About The Position

SANTAQUIN CITY is accepting applications for a Part-Time Wildland Engine Boss. Responsibilities include but are not limited to responding to, controlling and extinguishing wildland fires locally, statewide, and nationally while representing Santaquin Fire & EMS during interagency assignments. Supports wildfire risk reduction initiatives within the community, including defensible space and structure ignition zone (SIZ) assessments, and participates in all-hazard emergency response operations when not deployed on wildfire assignments.

Requirements

• Graduation from High School or equivalent
• A minimum of two (2) years of wildland fire experience, including six (6) months' experience as a crew leader preferred
• Applicants must possess a valid Utah driver's license
• Current NWCG Engine Boss (ENGB) qualifications
• All Santaquin City employees must successfully complete a pre-employment drug test and criminal history check following a conditional offer of employment.
• Employees required to drive a motor vehicle as an essential job duty will be required to successfully complete a motor vehicle record (MVR) check following a conditional offer of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with municipal, state, federal, or tribal fire agencies preferred
