Wild Toledo Restoration Technician
About The Position
The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium has been educating, inspiring, and providing enjoyment to our community for over 100 years. Our Conservation department is currently seeking a Seasonal Restoration Technician who is passionate about learning new things and giving our guests the best possible experience. Under limited supervision, the Wild Toledo Restoration Technician will perform a variety of duties related to the operation of Wild Toledo’s native habitat restoration initiatives. Restoration sites span a variety of habitats such as prairies, woodlands, and wetlands. Locations include the Toledo Zoo campus as well as numerous off-site locations in both urban and rural settings including municipalities, schools, corporate campuses, and private residences.
Requirements
- Must be 18+ years of age.
- Must possess a valid drivers’ license and be insurable by the fleet insurance carrier.
- Ability to work in regular field conditions that may include heat, humidity, rain, insect bites, and stings.
- Traveling to various locations throughout the NW Ohio and SE Michigan Areas.
- Some minimal travel over an hour away in a day.
- Some weekend work required.
- The Toledo Zoo is a drug-free workplace, including marijuana.
Nice To Haves
- Preference will be given to current biology students as well as those with degrees in the field.
