About The Position

Taylor Corporation is looking for a Wide Format Press Operator to join our team. Position Summary: Operate equipment in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines. Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and diagrams to select, position, and secure machinery. Adjust machine settings to complete tasks accurately, within quality guidelines, and in a timely fashion. This position includes operation of Wide Format Press equipment, printing on large-scale substrates such as vinyl, fabric, foam board, and other specialty materials used in signage, displays, and promotional graphics. The operator ensures accurate color matching, material handling, and finishing processes specific to wide format production. This role requires knowledge of standard practices and procedures within the wide format graphics field.

  • Ability to stand or walk for 8 hours, frequently reach, handle, or feel materials
  • Ability to twist, turn, kneel, or crouch as needed for equipment setup or cleaning
  • Ability to lift or move 1-15 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally
  • Color vision and ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to operate a manual pallet jack and use basic hand tools (putty knives, scissors, box cutters, etc.)
  • Comfort working in a moderate noise environment (hearing protection provided if needed)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, including with remote team members
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information and ideas so others will understand
  • Regularly required to remain in a stationary position
  • Constantly operates machinery and handles products including print materials
  • Frequently required to move inside the facility
  • Regularly move up to 25+ pounds (lift, push, pull, and/or carry)

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to work with very close tolerances and precise measurements
  • Good color discernment
  • Experience with wide format printing equipment (roll-to-roll, flatbed, or hybrid printers)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and operate printing press equipment in compliance with job specifications and company quality standards
  • Perform daily/weekly/monthly maintenance on equipment to ensure optimum output
  • Prepare ink settings for proper color and consistency
  • Check paper or material type, size, color, and quantity
  • Visually inspect printed products throughout the run for quality
  • Coordinate with the production team to prioritize and adjust jobs as needed
  • Maintain knowledge of safety requirements and equipment operation standards
  • Operate finishing equipment such as laminators, cutters, and trimmers used in wide format production
  • Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and lifts
