About The Position

Exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced medical team within a growing federally qualified community health center. HealthFirst Family Care Center, Inc . “The Heart of Our Community” provides comprehensive services including adult/pediatric medical care, health education, health assessment and screenings, gynecology, cardiology, behavioral health, substance use treatment, and adult/pediatric dental care. The Women, Infants, & Children (WIC) Nutrition Program keeps pregnant and breastfeeding women and kids under 5 healthy by providing healthy foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and referrals to healthcare and other services, free of charge, to Massachusetts families who qualify. WIC Sr. Nutritionist Summary: Under the general supervision of the Director of WIC, the Sr. Nutritionist supervises the nutritionists and provides support to the operation of the WIC Department. The Sr. Nutritionist is responsible for planning, supervising, and evaluating the nutrition component of the WIC program including determination of nutritional risk, nutrition and breastfeeding counseling and education, nutrition appointment schedule, follow-up nutrition education, food package prescriptions, health and social service referrals, nutrition care plans, and documentation of nutrition services. Schedule: Mon – Fri 8:30am – 5:00pm Pay Range : $56,000 – $70,000 annually The pay range represents HealthFirst’s good faith estimate for this role at the time of posting, in compliance with applicable laws. Final compensation will be determined based on several factors such as relevant experience, education, skills, internal equity, market conditions, and budget considerations. Candidates with less direct experience may be placed at the lower end of the range, while those with more significant or specialized experience may be considered at the higher end.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health Nutrition, Nutrition, Food and Nutrition, or Nutrition Education and two years of community nutrition experience or Registered Dietitian with one year of post graduate community nutrition experience.
  • Experience in program planning and administration.
  • At least one year of experience in counseling.
  • Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills required.
  • Must submit a CORI release form and demonstrate proof of being free from disqualifying information.
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Bi-lingual in Spanish or Portuguese preferred.
