The WIC Nutritionist will perform duties in accordance with State WIC Policy & Procedures, including screening for intake data to determine nutritional risk and providing nutrition education. The role involves anthropometric measuring, lab work, and maintaining the necessary qualifications to perform required lab work. The Nutritionist will demonstrate motivational interviewing skills, set goals, and perform appropriate WIC documentation. Responsibilities also include prescribing food packages for clients, preparing nutrition care plans, providing client education and outreach, scheduling appointments, and coordinating referrals. The position requires issuing e-WIC benefits and assisting with clinic administrative needs while ensuring a positive customer service experience. The Nutritionist will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team and assist with quality assurance and various projects as assigned. Occasional travel and staff relief may be required.
