About The Position

The Women's, Infants and Children's (WIC) program at Central District Health (CDH) is seeking a motivated individual to join their team in Boise. This role focuses on providing exceptional care to clients by performing paraprofessional clinical duties, maintaining client records, and offering health and community program resource information. The successful candidate will embody the agency's values and contribute positively to the community's health.

Requirements

  • Some knowledge of health and nutritional needs of adults and children.
  • Experience in interviewing and eliciting personal information.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations accurately.
  • High School diploma or GED certificate.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a customer service role.
  • Experience collecting blood samples in a clinic setting.
  • Experience measuring height and weight.
  • Experience giving presentations to groups or conducting training sessions.
  • Ability to speak, write, and read both English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Perform paraprofessional clinical duties and maintain client records.
  • Gather client data and provide health and community program resource information.
  • Interview clients to obtain and document detailed personal data including health and dietary information.
  • Explain services and programs, determine client eligibility, and adapt services for clients.
  • Obtain, process, and read results of height, weight, and hemoglobin.
  • Describe program requirements, client rights, and obligations.
  • Provide health and nutrition information to groups and individuals using professionally prepared materials.
  • Distribute program outreach materials and contact clients about program services.
  • Compile data for program reports.
