About The Position
The WIC Assistant Director follows all WIC Performance Standards, Agency and Program policies and procedures, and other applicable Federal and State regulations to successfully accomplish Agency and Program goals and objectives. The role involves providing education, training, and support to WIC pregnant women and parents to encourage the choice of lactation as the primary source of nutrition for their infants. The Assistant Director maintains the breast pump loan program and performs administrative duties in the absence of the Program Director. Responsibilities include staff interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems. The position requires travel to various communities throughout Lake County and out-of-area conferences and trainings while maintaining professional and ethical standards in accordance with agency policy, code of conduct, and legal requirements.
