About The Position

Looking for a Wi-Fi Development Lead / Architect to drive the design, development, and evolution of our next-generation wireless connectivity platform. This role combines deep technical expertise in Wi-Fi technologies (802.11 standards, PHY/MAC, drivers, firmware, networking stack) with strong leadership in system architecture, performance optimization, and team mentorship.

Requirements

  • 15 years of experience in embedded software or network stack development, with 5+ years focused on Wi-Fi.
  • Deep understanding of IEEE 802.11 standards (a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be) and Wi-Fi Alliance certifications.
  • TCP/IP stack, L2/L3 networking, VLANs, QoS, DHCP, NAT, DNS.
  • Embedded Linux / OpenWRT / SDK-based Wi-Fi stacks.
  • Integration with chipsets (MXL, Qualcomm, Broadcom, Mediatek, etc.).
  • Proven experience leading engineering teams or acting as a system architect.

Responsibilities

  • Architecture & Design
  • Define and drive the end-to-end architecture of Wi-Fi subsystems, including MAC/PHY integration, drivers, networking stack, and interface with application layers.
  • Evaluate and integrate next-gen Wi-Fi standards (Wi-Fi 6/6E/7) and emerging technologies (OFDMA, MU-MIMO, mesh, Easy Mesh, WPA3, etc.).
  • Define system-level performance goals (throughput, latency, roaming, coexistence) and ensure design alignment.
  • Technical Leadership
  • Lead the Wi-Fi software/firmware development team - guide technical direction, perform code reviews, and establish best practices.
  • Collaborate with chipset vendors (e.g., Broadcom, MXL, MediaTek, Qualcomm) to optimize performance and resolve issues.
  • Development & Integration
  • Own Wi-Fi driver and firmware development for embedded platforms (Linux/OpenWRT/RTOS).
  • Work closely with hardware, QA, and network engineers to ensure seamless product integration and validation.
  • Analyze logs, debug complex connectivity issues, and tune performance across PHY/MAC/application layers.
