About The Position

The Wholesale Relationship Associate I/II/Sr. position is designed to partner with one or more Bankers to proactively grow and maintain all aspects of the client relationship while ensuring alignment with Wholesale Banking deposit gathering strategies. The role provides a concierge experience and develops strong relationships with day-to-day contacts. The associate collaborates with internal partners including Treasury, Private Wealth, and the Family Office to bring value to the client relationship. They ensure accurate execution of processes and serve as the knowledge center and central point of contact for Know Your Customer (KYC) and other regulatory requirements. The associate drives data integrity of client information source systems for accurate management and reporting of the overall client relationship, manages a deposit portfolio, provides account management and problem resolution to assigned high profile/high volume Wholesale Banking clients, and ensures client retention and proactive account management leading to client satisfaction, retention, and additional revenue. They also identify and cross-sell products and services appropriately aligned to clients' long-term financial needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Marketing, Communications or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One (1) year as a Wholesale Relationship Associate I OR three (3) years of customer service experience in the financial services industry.
  • Excellent analytical, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with potential, new, and established client groups.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with Client Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Synovus Bank systems utilized for customer support (e.g., deposit systems, PFP, insite).
  • Knowledge of Synovus Bank policies, products, and services with emphasis on commercial depository services.
  • Experience using Salesforce.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the client experience for Wholesale clients with complex loan and deposit account structures.
  • Delivers timely and accurate resolution to client issues.
  • Communicates clearly and identifies opportunities that can contribute to clients' business.
  • Builds relationships with clients through proactive contact including in-person and telephone conversations.
  • Sets client expectations and follows through to resolve client issues and inquiries.
  • Educates clients on KYC Due Diligence, Beneficial Ownership Certification, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Utilizes reporting to maintain data integrity and ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Uses project management skills to successfully onboard new clients.
  • Maintains awareness of Bank products and recognizes opportunities for further discussions with clients.
  • Acts as a liaison between bank partners.
  • Regularly communicates with Bankers and other product partners to keep the team aware of relationship activities.
  • Understands loan structures and credit agreement language to assist clients with loan-related questions.
  • Monitors client trends in deposit activity and alerts Banker or primary contact.
  • Opens, closes, and maintains accounts, updating relationship documents as needed.
  • Observes all policies, procedures, laws, regulations, and risk limits specific to their role.
