As a NEW HAVEN Counter Sales teammate, you will be an integral part of a dynamic and fast-paced team. Your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional customer service to clients who visit the trades counter. This is a hands-on position that requires excellent customer service and organization skills, and the ability to work efficiently and cooperatively in a fast-paced environment. As a Counter Sales teammate at BENDER, you will be accountable for providing the highest level of service to customers in person, over the phone and via company emails and texting applications, ensuring customer orders and requests are managed in a timely and accurate manner, effectively and quickly managing customer calls and emails, increasing sales and awareness of new products, specials, promotions, etc., proactively engaging in training to improve your product knowledge and selling skills, and meeting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Requirements

  • Reliable and punctual
  • Proficiency in using technology, including point-of-sale systems, Microsoft Office, and RFS/WMS scanners, and the ability to learn others
  • Strong organization and attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy (30-50 lbs.) items occasionally

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in wholesale/distribution counter sales
  • Previous experience in Plumbing and HVAC

Responsibilities

  • Provide the highest level of service to customers, in person, over the phone and via company emails and texting applications
  • Ensure customer orders and requests are managed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Effectively and quickly manage customer calls and emails
  • Increase sales and awareness of new products, specials, promotions, etc.
  • Proactively engage in training to improve your product knowledge and selling skills
  • Meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Greet customers and answer incoming calls at the counter with professionalism and a friendly attitude
  • Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using our point-of-sale and WMS systems
  • Fulfill customer orders and arrange for product pickups
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure inventory accuracy and product availability
  • Handle returns and exchanges professionally and in accordance with company policies
  • Be willing to find solutions and solve challenges
  • Assist in resolving customer inquiries and concerns
  • Maintain a positive and helpful attitude, even during busy periods
  • Maintain a clean and organized counter area
