About The Position

The Wholesale Credit Risk Data Manager is a senior level professional responsible for developing and/or embedding data quality tools, processes and providing oversight of Enterprise Data Quality Metrics. This role is responsible for leading the definition of Data Quality requirements and management of the enterprise-wide operating model. This role works closely with Data Quality leaders across the enterprise to set standards and provide guidance and support to implement consistent Data Quality metrics and reporting targets of data quality issues and risks. Excellent communication skills required to negotiate internally, often at a senior level.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in a complex, financial organization, with a particular focus in Data Quality, including 8+ years' managerial experience
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams
  • Advanced domain knowledge of Data Governance methodologies, with a focus on Data Quality is preferred. Practical experience in implementing Data Governance and Data Quality processes is highly preferred
  • Working knowledge of Enterprise Data Office mandate
  • Can effectively lead change in an organization with Citigroup’s size, scale and complexity; Experience leveraging the processes and principles of change Strategic mindset, who can see ahead to future possibilities and translate them into breakthrough strategies
  • Communicates effectively, develops and delivers multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences; able to drive consensus, and influence relationships at all levels management to drive organizational change, defining change criteria, providing support and education, managing resistance, and measuring outcomes
  • Manages through ambiguity by making sense of complex, high quantity and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems
  • Promotes a culture of collaboration and teamwork across organizations; and demonstrates effective work relationships with business and global function colleagues
  • Understanding of the overall regulatory environment and previous experience working with regulators on data plan execution, preferred
  • Bachelors/University degree, Master’s degree preferred

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Full management responsibility of a team or multiple teams, including management of people, to include performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval
  • Design, oversee, and implement the execution of Enterprise Data Quality requirements, procedures and the Data Quality operating models, including scoring requirements
  • Partner with Product Management to ensure development of suitable tools which enable efficient execution of required operating models
  • Design, oversee, and implement the collection of suitable metrics that demonstrate the effective performance of the operating models
  • Educate and mobilize Data Risk and Controls officers to perform their responsibilities under existing operating models, effectively leveraging the Certification processes
  • Report Data Quality issues through Citi’s corresponding Data/Issue management process
  • Lead migration of legacy systems to new enterprise platforms
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable rules, laws, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgement regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating managing and reporting control issues with transparency
