About The Position

Are you a graduate-level psychology student seeking meaningful, hands-on clinical experience with youth in a residential treatment setting? The Whitehall Psychology Internship offers an exceptional opportunity to apply your academic training in assessment, reporting, and direct engagement with youth—while being mentored by experienced psychologists and mental health professionals. This internship is ideal for students who want to strengthen their clinical assessment skills, gain real-world experience in adolescent psychological services, and work directly with a licensed provider. Interns will gain experience in psychological assessments and risk assessments related to youth who sexually harm. This internship provides valuable, practical experience that supports clinical competence and professional development. Successful interns will demonstrate: Flexibility Dependability Strong organizational skills A hardworking, reliable work ethic Foundational knowledge of psychological assessments

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited college or university (two-to-four-year institution) OR recently graduated (within one year) from an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited college or university (two-to-four-year institution).
  • Must successfully complete background checks and required pre-service training

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate-level students enrolled in an APA approved psychology program
  • Ability to work at least 20-30 hours per week as need dictates
  • Commitment to ethical standards in clinical and assessment work
  • Previous experience and/or training in psychology, counseling, or related clinical setting
  • An interest in working with troubled youth
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality
  • An interest in learning treatment approaches with traumatized youth

Responsibilities

  • Conduct clinical interviews with youth at intake
  • Complete assigned biopsychosocial assessments
  • Administer personality assessments and IQ evaluations
  • Prepare monthly psychology reports
  • Calculate assessment scores and interpret results under supervision
  • Corporate with a multidisciplinary treatment team
